What a great Saturday! Did you hear what happened in Gifhorn (DE)? Goats… Goats everywhere... From the Tankumsee, once around and into the city center...
The latest LAB (LocalAreaBadge) with more than 400 Oracle Flags disguised as small goats was inaugurated by over 20 FLAGSTACK herders. Freckless and degeisi, with the friendly support of many other FLAGSTACKERS, have created a MEGA Oracle Trail in the middle of a wonderful landscape. We could convince ourselves of the quality in person with many other crazy people: Perfect flag positions, perfect mobile phone reception with various providers, perfect parking possibilities at start and finish, perfect environment with great landscape. Well-equipped we passed sandy beaches, hiking trails, the famous triple oak and a short detour on trails past beaver constructions. So much variety can be seen while pursuing your favorite hobby - FLAGSTACK :)
This LAB is recommended and can be done all year round! You are welcome to visit it!

Next weekend you'll be busy shopping, cleaning the house, preparing the garden for autumn and such things...
No? Are you free Saturday afternoons? Then this is THE ULTIMATIVE RECOMMENDATION for you!
In the last weeks and months a huge Oracle Flag Trail has been created in Gifhorn and it will be inaugurated on September 1st 2018.
degeisi invites us all and has written the following text, which we will gladly pass on to you to make the event a really big thing:

„Liebe FlagHunter in Nah und Fern.
Hier noch einmal ein Aufruf an ALLE potentiellen Teilnehmer des 3. GifHorner Flagstack-Events. Angesprochen fühlen sollen sich auch die vielleicht noch Unentschlossenen oder auch die Zweifler…“nehme´ ich teil, oder nehme´ ich nicht teil“. Nicht einmal mehr eine volle Woche ist Zeit und es findet eines DER Highlights 2018 in Sachen Flagstack statt…, das 3. GifHorner-Event am Samstag 01. Sept. 2018, mit der offiziellen Einweihung des “GifHorner-ZickenTrails“.
Hier noch einmal wichtige Einzelheiten für Euch…
1. Ich hatte es bereits mitgeteilt, der Startpunkt hat sich verändert, wer es noch nicht weiß, bitte in den Eventtext schauen (https://www.flagstack.net/event/1458).
2. Hinsichtlich der zu wandernden Strecke (ca. 13,5 km)…bitte passende Kleidung und Schuhwerk anziehen, lt. Wettervorhersage werden wir optimale Voraussetzungen haben (Sonne mit leichter Bewölkung, Temperaturen bis 22°), also an ausreichende Trinkmenge denken, Sonnenbrille, Sonnenschutz, Mückenschutz, Kopfbedeckung, zwingend vorgeschrieben ist Dienstkleidung und aufgeladene Smartphones und Power Banks. Wir werden einen kleinen Teil der Strecke durch unwegsames Gelände laufen müssen, ansonsten ist die Strecke aber gut zu bewältigen. Es gibt keine Berge zwischendrin. Außerdem haben wir etwa 5 Std. Zeit. Wir werden uns nicht stressen lassen.
3. Der Zielpunkt ist das Paula´s in Gifhorn. Dort sind für uns ab 18:00h entsprechend der Teilnehmerzahl Plätze reserviert. Dazu noch speziell dieser Hinweis…Alle Speisen werden dort vor Ort frisch zubereitet, bei der Menge an Teilnehmern und ggf. individuellen Bestellungen, kann es also ein klein wenig dauern, bis das Essen auf dem Tisch steht, also bitte keine Ungeduld…
4. Ich gehe davon aus, dass wir früh genug in GF ankommen werden, sodass wir noch Zeit haben, vor der Siegerehrung und dem gemütlichen Teil, die am Startpunkt stehenden Fahrzeuge zurückzuholen. Das organisiere ich ggf. kurzfristig mit einem oder zwei Großraumtaxis. Eine Idee dazu wäre aber auch, sich vor Beginn des Events zeitlich ausreichend bei Paula´s in Gifhorn zu treffen, um Fahrgemeinschaften zum Startpunkt zu bilden. Die Entfernung mit dem Auto beträgt etwa die Hälfte des Fußweges. Zu dem Thema können wir aber auch noch kurzfristig kommunizieren.
5. Ich habe in diesem Jahr zwei unterschiedlichen regionalen Zeitschriften mitgeteilt, dass dieses Event stattfindet. Im vergangenen Jahr ist der Redakteur der “Aller Zeitung“ einen Teil der Strecke mitgelaufen, um sich Informationen zum Spiel zu notieren. Wie sich das in diesem Jahr darstellen wird, ob überhaupt, ob zu Beginn, oder zum Abschluss jemand von der Presse auftaucht, wie das mit Fotos aussieht, war mir bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt noch nicht bekannt. Sollte sich jemand von der Presse irgendwo einfinden, dann bitte ich um Unterstützung von Eurer Seite, genügend relevante Infos über das Spiel für die Öffentlichkeit mitzuteilen.
6. Abschließend noch ein Hinweis zu den Flaggen…Der gesamte Trail ist nun fast ausschließlich mit “Oracle Flags“ bestückt. Es handelt sich um gefühlte 1000 Stück, es sind nicht ganz so viele, aber annähernd. Es steht Euch allen frei, die Attraktivität der Strecke noch zu erhöhen, indem Ihr die ein oder andere attraktive Flagge entlang des Trails noch dazwischen streut. Aber ACHTUNG…rechts und links des Weges ist nicht allzu viel Platz. Wir bewegen uns halt durch Felder und Wiesen…

It was the middle of winter, and the snow-flakes were falling like feathers from the sky, and a queen sat at her window working, and her embroidery-frame was of ebony. And as she worked, gazing at times out on the snow, she pricked her finger, and there fell from it three drops of blood on the snow. And when she saw how bright and red it looked, she said to herself, "Oh that I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the embroidery frame!" Not very long after she had a daughter, with a skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony, and she was named Snow-white.
