You are amazing...

You are amazing! In only 79 days you all together have made 1 million captures and cleared the way for our player Erdkroete to make the 3 millionth capture in the morning of 15.June 2016.

You know what this means? This means, per day 12,658 flags are captured on average. This means, per hour 527 flags are captured on average. This means, that you have lots of fun with FLAGSTACK! In appreciation of your hard work, all products (party flags and gift vouchers exempted) in the webshop https://www.flagstack.net/shop will be reduced by 30% from 17.June 2016 at 03:00 (Timezone Europe / Berlin) for 30 hours - until 18.June 2016 at 08:59 (timezone Europe / Berlin).

The specific flag on the highway A7 in northern Germany, which helped our player Erdkroete to this million-success, will be especially highlighted by us with a custom icon on the map. Anyone who captures this flag in future, will be awarded with an extra badge.

Thank you for your great promotion - and continue to have a lot of fun!

Capture the flag...

The salty spice in the soup!
(the icing on the cake)

In Germany the summer has returned finite and June is a special month in the Magdeburger Boerde (Germany) - two good reasons to go on the "Salty Tour" around the "white gold". Salt production for centuries was an important source for the region's prosperity. With FLAGSTACK you can feel the traces of ancient trade and salt roads and from now on you can earn a new award with this Local Area Badge (LAB). Further information about the "Salty Tour" can be read here . At this point we would like to thank the Magdeburg Tourism Organisation Elbe-Boerde-Heide e.V. for a good and uncomplicated collaboration - it was a pleasure!

But we can offer something else...

The latest app update of FLAGSTACK with great new features is available in stores of Apple and Android.

After installation of the app update, f.e. you can try out the new Quick-Deploy button on the map in the app to your heart's content. There will be double credits for deployed flags in June’s team battle #07! You don't play in a team until now? Take a look for a team on the website, in the forum or on Facebook or create your own team and make the most of this promotion with double deploy credits! Later you can change your gathered credits into valuable rewards (f.e., a € 100.00 Amazon voucher).

In June, the team battle will be counted completely different additionally. For a change, in this battle it is about the factions! Which faction will earn most credits per team on average? You think that sounds complicated? Here is the explanation:

At the end of TB # 07 there will be counted, what faction has earned most credits in average. You can follow the current status on the website during the team battle in the faction’s ranking.

To get it really interesting, teams in the same faction cannot attack each other. Therefore it is worth looking into the faction’s ranking to see how the teams line up and for which faction your team will decide!

At month end, the three factions will make up the winner’s rostrum for gold, silver and bronze among themselves. As a reward, every player who is taking part in the team battle will receive the following prices:

Faction No. 1 (Gold) = each player 9 Oracle Flags incl. 1st place badge

Faction No. 2 (Silver) = each player 6 Oracle Flags incl. 2nd place badge

Faction 3rd place (Bronze) = each player 3 Oracle Flags incl. 3rd place badge

We do not want to ignore the individual power of the teams. Therefore, the first three placings in team’s ranking will receive their prices and badges unchanged.

If you are already a member of a team, then look forward to the change. If you do not belong to a team, give the team battle a try! For you see, in June, there are no losers in the team battle!

It goes on ...

A new LAB* and COB** are just around the corner!

In the Netherlands, more precisely in Friesland, from the 16.May 2016 you can discover the LAB "Elfstedentocht" and thus a special Friesian tradition. Elfstedentocht (English: Eleven Cities Tour) is the name for a natural ice endurance race in speed skating, which is experienced as a major cultural event and is no longer arranged only on the ice but also in other ways. On Whit Monday, this tour traditionally can be experienced as "Fietselfstedentocht", i.e. as a bicycle tour. Approximately 15,000 cyclists make their way and ride the 235 km long route to be rewarded with a medal.

With great support from Maarten10 and Borghuis we were able to implement this tour at FLAGSTACK! Small Friesian flags will show you the way from station to station. As a reward you will receive a great badge.

The latest COB will be available in Austria from the 16.May 2016! In each of the 9 provinces, we have placed a special flag at the town halls of the main cities that you need to collect to receive the badge. So get in touch with a complete different side of Austria, in your local area or on vacation, and then you will be rewarded with a great badge. Thanks to ohraku for the idea and support!

As late as May we will release an update of our iOS and Android apps, there are really great new features waiting for you. Stay tuned for more follow-up…!

New paths...

We want to go on new paths with you! For example, through Hungary with the brand new Country Badge (COB)! Seven amazing stations are waiting to be discovered by you. So take a look on the FLAGSTACK map https://www.flagstack.net/map, there are various Country badges already to find, and plan some stops on your holiday or weekend trip... Of course we are going to publish additional Country badges. A little tip: if you are a Premium Member, you can find the sites of Country Badges and POI flags easier by enabling only the "special flag" filter!

From now you can see at FLAGSTACK a piece of German history in Bonn. Due to this Local Area Badge (LAB), we are going the "path of democracy" together! You can find 22 signposted stations at places of contemporary historical interest in the former government district in Bonn. On display boards at each station, you can find indications of the former political significance of these houses. If you have captured 15 from 22 stations of this pathway, you will receive a very special award.

We would like to take this opportunity to give a big thank to our player c-bn, who had the idea for this Local Area Badge and has been very supportive in the implementation.

We also would like to thank the "Stiftung Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland“ and the city of Bonn, who launched this way of democracy, look after it and take care - and remind us therefore of a very significant piece of German history. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to join an exciting outdoor game like FLAGSTACK with an impressive history. On the website www.wegderdemokratie.de you can find further information in German and English, just have a look...

A new path went dydy too, and has made the 2.5 millionth capture near Dusseldorf, Germany on 08.Mai 2016! Congrats to dydy for this special moment (hey, after all, there were 50 extra points) and a big thank to all the players for capturing so many flags within 10 months of FLAGSTACK!

Flagstack News – Alles neu macht der Mai

The old German saying has it all - May is the month when changes in the nature are visible clearly. Don't be afraid, with us much remains the same, because well-tried won’t be changed.

Instead, we want to present THE innovation of FLAGSTACK: From 05.May 2016 you can discover the POI flag and thereby great places. POI means "Point of Interest” and surely you know POIs from your navigation device or route planner. Around noon (Timezone Europe / Berlin), the first POI flags will be deployed on our map. We will start in Europe, and by and by more POIs around the world will be flagged. Fast Facts: for each POI flag you will receive up to 40 points. By capturing 250/ 500 and 1,000 POI flags, you will receive a badge. Do you know a POI insider tip in your area? Does this one have no POI flag? Then send this proposal to poi@flagstack.net - maybe your POI will go into the next release of these flags...

POI on the map

Let’s try again is the motto with our Team Battle. In a few minutes we go again and Team Battle #6 begins. We wish all a fair competition, great fun and lots of flags!

A sad thing at the end: the first Flagstack Volunteer of all time TEAMLKN resigns from his volunteering for personal reasons. We want to thank you also on behalf of the volunteers and players community from hearts, Kim, for your support and the common time and wish you all the very best for your future.

A first help for players support to the Scandinavian countries, like to everyone else, is available in German and English at support@flagstack.net, as well as taking a look in the Forum (DE and EN) and in the various Facebook groups.
